Starry Night

Starry Night replicated by Victoria Johnson.
April 2012. Acrylic Paint.

For my intro to art class we were given the opportunity to pick a painting done by a famous artist and try and replicate it to the best of our abilities. I picked Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh. This is one of my favorite paintings, and I had a lot of fun working on it. It took me about 8 hours to complete. I love all of the different colors that Van Gogh used and all of the symbolism he had put into this painting. The main message to take away from his painting is, we will only be happy in our dreams... or when we die. {Starry Night was completed shortly before his suicide...}
